Charge for selecting categories

In V9 directory theme is there any way to allow users to select one category for a free listing but charge them for selecting more than one category?

My directory is currently still on V8 and free listing list in a single category and paid listings can add to unlimited categories. This works well for me so would be ideal if the same can be added to V9

I see there is an option to add a price to each category, but currently they cannot select the first one for free its eith all paid or all free with the featured listing being the only upgrade.

Is there any plans to make V9 similar functionality to V8? As I think V9 does look good layout wise but lacks the same functions of V8 in my opinion.
