Hi guys…
So… while I’m still waiting to get my website up and running due to no conditional logic on the add listing form for classifieds…
I’ve decided to try and hack away at the design.
So.. the ugly grey needs to go. How?
I’d like to change the color of the my account boxes please.

thanks.

You can switch to a list view instead if your using 8.4.

Can’t use 8.4 since it’s only on a clean install right?
And I rather like the boxes..just not the gray color. So how do I change the color?

Custom CSS? For Add Listing page? The page file can be discovered by using plugin called What’s My File. Then you can use Firefox and firebug to discover the code but don’t mess with the core files. Copy the page to ur child theme or put CSS code in style. css in child theme or misc area on theme overview general settings (bottom tab).

Hope thay may help.

Hey there Micheal,
Thanks for the response 🙂
I already have what’s my file …downloaded it a long time ago when I started using this theme..
however, I for some reason cannot change the box colors for the my account page.

Josh..are you around? You seem very knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like this.

U wanna change the box color of the my account page? U need to find out what the box is called to change its color.

Custom CSS should be fine.

Find the box as it is styled in page. Use Google Chrome or Firefox when u r visiting that page.

Then insert the CSS code into the custom CSS area, probably header area.

.my_account_box or whatever thr name is (may be some obscure or common name for a box or page style) Then color you want instead of gray,if want border,type of font, any columns, clearfix whatever else is in that area….my info is not accurate just a bad example that yru to help you identify. Check W3 schools for CSS.

If CSS was my forte, this would be simple. It probably is. I just haven’t learned it enough yet.

Hello Sharee,
Was away for the weekend but am back now.Try this under Design Setup >Custom Meta Data >Header Styles
<style>
.account-block .description {
background:#3b3b3b !important;
</style>
Replace #3b3b3b with your color

Thanks Josh & welcome back!
So that did the trick of recoloring…so I’ll award you the points..however

I’m now faced with
1)acct boxes that no longer do a hover…( for clarity https://screencast.com/t/TwwjS1zt7g2h )
2) too dark of a text font…
3) and a white eyesore of a line that was already there but more prevalent with the color change.

When I did inspect element it came up as being called hr…
here is the code I have so far
<style>
.account-block .description {
background:#4490c8 !important;
h3 {
color:#ffffff !important;
p {
color:#ffffff !important;
hr {
background:#4490c8 !important;
</style>
and as you can tell by the attachment, the only part that is working is the code you provided Josh.
Thanks again btw.
