carousel items – nearby based on distance

I want to have the carousel fill with listings that are within a few miles (5, 10, 20, etc) of:

1. My location when I’m on the home page
2. The selected listing when I have selected a listing. (ie I select chili’s restaurant, I get the chilis listing page, the carousel at the bottom fills with other listings that are within 2 miles).

Can this be done without customization?

If not, any suggestions on how to do it?
