After purchasing the microjob theme, i created a child theme which helps in keeping any custom css files but my question is on the face that we needed to change some written content to suit the clients need. E.g the microjob used listing and we needed to change all listing to Services. We are copied the framework folder to the child theme to preserve the same structure but no changes takes place in the child theme except in the parent theme. Any help with this will be appreciated cos one there’s an update – its a another kind of drama and heartaches.

Why is the changes not working in the child theme except the parent theme?

    Hi Paul,

You mean the links and slugs, and the admin theme options texts?

This cannot be done with the child theme. You must edit the theme core files specially the framework/admin/ folder.

That’s the problem. I thought that if files in the parent theme can be edited in the child themes, then it should be possible to edit the folders in the child theme as long as they have the same structure.

    e.g.
    MJ
    -framework
    -template
    -…other files
    template_child_theme
-framework (this is what i am hoping to adjust without tampering with the parent core).

    Is this possible?
