Advanced search results in 404

Building a new DP site (at present on localhost) with a static homepage. Have the same problem with either ver. 7.0.9.2 & 7.1.4 Advanced search on pages in left sidebar results in 404. Obviously I am doing something wrong with static page setup. Their are numerous tutorials on setting up a static homepage on WP but is it any different for DP? What is the actual process to setup the static homepage on DP? Thanks again Graeme P.S. Mark do you ever go to sleep? I'm in Aus and you seem to be always online. Great work by the way.
