I am trying to setup a search box where someone can search any one of the boxes and get a result.
But I can’t get it to work!
A couple of possibilities – limit the search to specific categories for each search field (doesn’t appear to be possible). I will have a lot of categories, so displaying all of them isn’t really a good way to search.
Taxonomies – I have setup a number of taxonomies, but they’re not showing up in the advanced search field options. I have 3 location taxonomies (which came with the theme) and that’s it. My new ones don’t show up there.
How can I search on a taxonomy I’ve set up??
Failing that, can anyone suggest a way to reuse the 3 Country/State/City taxonomies? I want to search on 3 things like Business Type, State and Region, rather than Country/State/City
As far as I can work out, these 3 are linked, so if I replace Country with Business Type, the searcher has to have chosen something in that box before they can search by State. But some people may just want to search by City.
It really would be simpler to add in a search field based on my own taxonomies. Or limit the search options to only the Business Type categories.
