Maybe using a two column content, then use a custom slider in one column and advanced search code in the other one. ๐Ÿ˜

    Okeyyyy

    I tried just about everything…

Sorry, I added a search bar in various ways as well as added the [advancedsearch] in html, to fit it next to the slider but to no avail. It either comes out too stretched or not in the right plce.

I need some serious techy assistance from the pros.

    Pls see http://www.dayfieldmotors.co.za

Ok sorry I got it going, still working on it, seems that margin/padding/line height is a bit of an issue though..

Hi Mike.. Actually it was not really something that I needed for my site at this stage, I was more just asking for your solution to be posted to aid users who may have this problem now or in the future..

I have found it really hard finding solutions to problems in these forums.. mostly because of the search limitations.. but also it is frustrating when you do find some discussion on a topic you are having problems with and one reads all the comments and then no solution.. and it seems that often people finally work it out themselves, as I have myself on many occasions, but then they don’t pass on the solution for the benefit of others.. :-)

I am sure there are many users just waiting to see how you overcame this problem..

    Cheers
    :-)

I just joined and seems like the community is still small or people have a steep learning curve. Anyway, to answer your question watch this video ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Frank.. thanks for your input. I am not sure if your reply was to me or to Mike.. but actually I was more interested in how Mike managed to position the advanced search in his menu bar.. I am familiar (now) with most of what was in the video you attached,, but couldn’t see anything in there that explained how to get the search in the menu bar.. which is how it seemed to me he had done.. Maybe I missed something there.. would not be the first time for sure.. :-)

‘Advance Search’ in the ‘menu’ or next to ‘slider’?

Please check if there is a home page object called ‘Search Style 1’ available in your theme. It is there in Directory Theme. Use it with a ‘short code’ for the slider.

‘Advance search’ in menu would require a lot of customization, or use a mega menu plugin which accept short codes.
