    Hi all,

I am working on a directory project and am still learning the theme. I would like to make it as convenient for the account holder as possible. One of the things I realized is that a listing address does not show in the default tab of the listing view, it will display on search results, but not in each listing. The address shown on the search results is fetched from the Map Location the client enters at the time of creating the list. I also realized that in order for the address to appear in the Listing Page, I need to create custom fields for the address. This means that the client will have to enter their address twice, once in custom fields and once in Maps.

Unless there is a way to fix this with some setting, plugin or anything else, I will have to code something. I am hoping to avoid that, so if anyone knows of a solution, I would be grateful for the help.

In any case, and if there is no existing work-around for this, this is what I plan to do:

    1. Create Custom Fields: Street Address 1, Street Address 2.
    2. Create Custom Field: City/State/Postcode (All as one field).
    3. I have imported a complete database table of all Suburbs, States and Postcodes in my country.. The client would enter their street address and then move on to enter their city/state and postcode (in that one field).. Once they start typing, my code will run an auto suggest brought from the database with the suburb, state and postcode.. The client would then select their suburb which would automatically populate the City/State/Postcode field.
    4. Ok, so now we have the custom fields (either 2 or 3 depending on how many street addresses the client uses)..
    5. On form submission, I’ll duplicate the entries in street address 1 and 2 and the city/state and postcode all in the Map Location Field automatically.
    6. Now I have both, custom fields and Map Location Field completed.. This will give me the listing address in both Search Results and The Listing Page.. At the same time, I know for sure that the address provided in maps will be the same as custom fields.
    7. In the advance search, I added a custom field that searches against Map Location.

As you can see, it is involved, and I am not too keen on doing all of this is it has already been dealt with.. So, any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
