Mark, even though we are using the last version 6.3 of Classified Theme with Vacation Properties Child theme, we are not prepared to update the version until a later date or until we are sure we will not have the same issue as it means a new design and a great deal of work.
In the meantime, we have an issue with how Registration (on or off) vs Submission (on or off) for visitors to our website works against each other.
The issue is where we wish to use the Submission Switch “on” for visitors, so that visitor can submit a new classified ad without first registering for the site. As your site stands, there are two components that are redundant for registration. With both switches for Registration and Submission for visitors turned on, there is a sub-menu that is created that shows “LOGIN/REGISTER”. The second page is the “Add Listing” page that contains a portion for creating a new account. This page does not have extra fields that the administrator can create, and so it is incomplete when compared to adding fields in the “REGISTER” page where changes can be made by adding additional fields in General Settings>Registration. Even when adding new fields, anyone can register and this creates a security breach, as we have been getting bogus registrations that do not “submit” ads. Most have bogus email addresses and in these dangerous times, we do not wish to have the potential for any messaging behind the scenes of any two parties that do not have ads. We wish new users to be able to submit new ads and register on the “Add Listing” page without going to the “LOGIN/REGISTER” page. Therefore, setting up an account occurs at the same time as submitting a new ad and eliminates bogus accounts set up by going to the “LOGIN/REGISTER” and simply registering an account and possibly opening up messaging between themselves, especially if each has knowledge of login information.
We have tried every scenario, but if we turn off the “Register” switch for visitors, then no on can get to the “Add Listing” page unless they login to the site, which does not make sense at all. Anyone should be able to submit a listing and register from the “Add Listing” page. We should also have the choice from that page, to NOT complete the registration without all the required fields complete. This should not be affected if we choose to turn off the “LOGIN/REGISTER” in General Settings. Once the account is set up in “Add Listings”, this should accommodate the need for registration within the submission settings.
We have checked with your support desk in chat sessions, and no assistance with this issue can be offered, and so we are appealing to you for assistance with this issue.
We hope to hear from you soon.
    Kindest regards,
