Categories don't show in Edit Menu window

    On the first site I’ve created a Top, Main, and Mobile menu and assigned pages and categories. They all look as designed on that site.

    On the second site I’ve got 9 main categories that show in the home page widget and are set up just as before. They are the sample data categories renamed for the site, but when I go to the Edit Menu window to add them to a menu they are not there – there is just Uncategorized.

    Have I missed a step?
