change the white background for text entry areas.

Everywhere on my site that text can be entered in boxes, the background is white. It can be seen in my footer area. The “advanced search” has entry fields with a white background and it’s giving me a problem because I need to use a white font there. How do I change the entry field background color?

I want my color change to be site wide and not specific to the “advanced search” box because that white background is problematic in other areas too.
