Full page width for bbpress

Hi,

I am new to DirectoryPress but I am slowly putting together my website. I know how to make a page full width but I can’t seem to get my bbpress forum to go full width. I have tried copying the page.php template and naming it bbpress.php which is recommended on the bbpress forum however this does nothing. I just need to get a template file that has no side bars that I can call bbpress.php and that should fix it however I have little knowledge of php.
