Paragraph or hard return

None of my listings have paragraphs. They show up fine in the backend both in the visual and text editor. But once published, on the front end there is no paragraphy. I have to go through and do the <p> </p> for every listing. There must be a workaround. Please go slowly. I’m not strong with CSS.
