Insert Gallery in Responsive Shop Theme Not Working

I have seen this issue on here, but the discussion is closed and an answer wasn’t posted. I am using Responsive Shop Theme (updated version) child theme Purple and WordPress 3.8. On my listing page I am trying to add a gallery showing multiple images for my products. I can create a gallery, edit the gallery, but when I click insert gallery it doesn’t work. I do not get the gallery icon in my description box and no images show, only the default no image icon. I can from the same media library page insert a featured image into the listing page.

I know the media library create a gallery option does work because I can create and insert a gallery on a post page.

Does anyone know the fix for this? I’m assuming it is on the theme side since it works in regular wordpress mode.
