Creating a paid member

Hi All,
I have a dilemma. I can create a registered user and listing manually but I can’t create a payment record. What are others doing to manually create paid users? I have to literally log in as the member and pay via my own credit card/paypal to create a payment record to get the listing to work. Very cumbersome.
