remove expired coupons from home page

Hi there!

I am trying to remove expired coupons from home page using new “EXPIRE OPTIONS” functionality. So I have new EXPIRED COUPONS category and all expired coupons are there.

I was able removed EXPIRED COUPONS (id for this category is “521″) category from MENU bar using the following code:

$cats = wp_list_categories(‘title_li=&taxonomy=’.THEME_TAXONOMY.’&show_count=0&exclude=521&echo=0′.$ex );//&current_category=15

Also I spent 2 days digging how to remove coupons from home page. I found few suggestions on this forum but none of those related to “responsive” template.

I played with “DISPLAY SETTINGS > HOME PAGE” settings with no luck:

– &taxonomy=coupon&term=521
– &exclude=521
– &taxonomy=coupon&cat__not_in=expired-coupons
– taxonomy=coupon&tag_ID=521&post_type=coupon_type

… any help on this one, please … or maybe it’s better to exclude in PHP code?
