Home Page search button redirect to login/register page if not logged in

I want to change the behavior of the search button on the home page.

If the user is logged in, it should go to the search listings page.

If they are not logged in, take them to the login/register page.

is there a way to do that through the admin backend or do I need to create some php in the child theme (I’ve set up a child theme for customizations just is case).
