Ideas on How to Manage a Large Number of Listings with Subcategories?

Hi Everyone,

My site will eventually have about 35,000 directory listings.

I had planned to use about 180 total categories, with 18 main categories and about 10 subcategories under each. I set up the categories within the theme, then when I began importing directory listings to the site I found that lots of new main categories were being created when subcategories already existed.

I opened a support ticket and was told that Directory doesn’t currently support the import of listings to subcategories.

My site would really benefit from being able to use subcategories.

Does anyone have any ideas for a workaround?
