I’ve noticed the following on 8.9 Beta:

    1. You can no longer choose the zoom level for Search/Category results page (you could in 8.8).
I can see what the system is trying to do – it’s zooming to a level where you can see all listings for the search/category so is more zoomed out if results are spread over an area. This causes 2 problems:
    a) The BIG problem is if the results are very close together or there is just one result it zooms in to a ridiculous level (20 I guess) and looks terrible – the visitor would be forced to zoom out. If the system is to adapt the zoom depending on the results as it does there should be a maximum level it goes up to (eg. 14) – it would make sense for it to zoom to the same level as the map on the Listing Page.
    b) It is not centered on my default location as it used to be so one result a long way from all the others means the main area is right on the edge of the map.

    2. Can no longer choose zoom level for map on listing page – we used to be able to so why not now. For a local directory you need to be more zoomed in – I believe there is a file you can edit to change it but why take away this option from admin?

There are other map changes I don’t like but may be more personal preference and other people may like but the 2 problems above are serious and I feel need fixing urgently.
