Your feedback appreciated for directory website

Hi,
I’d appreciate the forum’s feedback on a site i’ve created for our local community. Not being a coding expert i have struggled a bit on some simple things like making hyperlinks be underlined. Also, when viewed on an iPad the carousel seems to get “squashed”.
Further changes i’d like to make it to put an image in the background of the header section. And to put the search field within the menu bar (when i’ve tried to do this the search bar appears to be “stepped” up and to the right of the menu bar items).
