Why do you have the same things repeated so many times in the htaccess file?

I dunno?? Should I just delete all of them ?
Looked this up one of these and still dont get it…
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
… means that if the file with the specified name in the browser doesn’t exist, or the directory in the browser doesn’t exist then procede to the rewrite rule below

RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
# WordPress SEO – XML Sitemap Rewrite Fix
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^$ [L]
RewriteRule ^([^/]+?)-sitemap([0-9]+)?.xml$ $1&sitemap_n=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^([a-z]+)?-?$ $1 [L]
# END WordPress SEO – XML Sitemap Rewrite Fix
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule ;
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . [L]
