Status Indicator

I am looking to set up a simple status of avilability indicator. – so my User can select say Green – Amber – Red or similar and this appears next to their profile.

Having looked for a traffic light plugin, I found this does not work correctly.

Does anyone know about a similar plugin – or perhaps a mash up which might do the job of colour coding their status on their listings.
