Slider page population issue

I’m using the standard premiumpress extension slider plugin; and looking at the attached pics I think I’ve correctly set it up with both a ‘slider templates’ and ‘sliders’ created.

I’ve then selected ‘posts’ and the type of posts I want displayed… but it says it cant find any posts, even tho the previous pic shows that the count is (1) – it doesn’t create the slides as expected for the posts.

slider is for the sidebar, as per last picture.

anything obvious i’m doing wrong?
