There is a major problem with this:

Google are deliberately killing off competition by “marking down” duplicate content.

If a supplier wants to put their content on several different directories – that’s is in their rights.

This supplier wont change the content for each different site they have chosen to list on [will they?].

Of course this leads inexorably to ensuring Google’s version of the content gets primacy.

This is restraint of trade and competition[quel surprise].

This is not good for the wider web community and smaller operators looking to break into the competitive space.

Which seems to be Googles increasing ‘do no evil’ competitive policy.

Moreover, there are only so many ways that any content can be altered to make them unique – so the measures of duplication are still crude/clumsy and counter competitive.

The search engines are perfectly capable of discerning duplicates, but emphatically NOT discerning about how that content has been obtained.

So why would you mark down one lot of content over another.

Thus they have propagated these crude and entirely spurious edicts which naive Googlefiles have evangelised to the world, consequently developing well crafted, but ultimately Google serving – such as “no follow” and marking down of dupe content – which lo and behold ends up favouring the content they hold.

Of course then Googles Editors then mark up the same [favourable] plugins’ search engine primacy – so Mssrs Googles interests can be served yet even better.

It’s breathtaking in it’s cheek. It it amazes me, how so many fall for it and do not resist this monopolization strategy.

Keeping Google happy [yuk], as one contributor has said seems to be ensure Google gets the most favourable billing!

This monopolization of the web is not good & all those well meaning, hard working but impoverished Coders and developers who end up earning the pitiful dregs of the amount of cash Google swallows up – should be more cognisant of this fact.

It also seems to render us buying products like Premium press entirely pointless – since we appear to have been automatically penalised using the crude marking down methodology described above?

    wake up people.
