I need to know what amount is best for my Memory Limit.
I was told by my Hosting company, my max is 256. Should I set the limit to 256.
Is there any reason why I would not want to change setting from 64 to 256.
Is there any OTHER setting I should change in the PHP File.
I am running a ShopperPress website.
It wouldnt hurt to set it to the max, it will only use what it needs to but in the event it needs more, then you’ll benefit by having it set to the top.
Ask your hoster if APC is available and if so get them to activate for you, should speed things up.
thats a good tip, thanks for sharing
What is APC.
GreenGeeks.com does not offer APC/Memcache
Which Hosting companies do offer it.
As David said apc will speedup the load
Apc stands for Alternative PHP Cache (highly recommended)
Always liked the explanation from below page
is APC only available on VPS Hosting accounts
Brandon, mostly yes (and dedicated) but there many some hosting companies that have it on shared. (i don’t know any thought)
@ Brandon I offer dedicateds from 15€uro a month with APC as a standard feature.
All servers are backed up nightly to a dedicated SSH backup server.
I also offer individual slots on shared dedicateds ( no more than 10 domains on any 1 server ) for 8€uro a month.
Get in touch if interested.
Is it a good idea to use a Server outside of USA since that is were I live.
Apparently not, some think it harms SEO etc, not an expert on that myself. Personally I don’t think it matters, speed is important obviously. What do my sites load like for you. http://www.nofool.co.uk
