Is it possible to add another sidebar?

I’d like to have different sidebars on different pages, even when the sidebar is in the same position. In other words, I might be using a “Left Sidebar” but don’t necessarily want all the same widgets on every page that happens to have a left sidebar.

I hope that makes sense.

I’ve gotten spoiled by another theme that lets me add custom sidebars to my heart’s content but I needed a dedicated directory theme for a current project.
