Hi.
Firstly, I’d just like to say i’ve read pretty much every thread/post about the problems with Child Themes and so far i haven’t seen any with the same problem as mine.
Yes, i had the original problem where i uploaded and it said please ‘Install Parent Theme’. This cost me about a couple of days pains until i read that you had to input DT instead of XXX….. That still didn’t work so i guessed and typed in ‘directorypress’ instead and viola it worked….
However, when i click on activate all i get is a jumbled up version of my original directorypress theme and there is no option to change this in the ‘General Setup’ section where the other templates also lie as i was looking for a new addition in there.
I activated the theme in Appearance and refreshed and still nothing apart from the above mentioned messed up version of existing directorypress theme.
Please could someone explain how to overcome my problems….
