How to search forums.

Hi Mark, and all you great contributors to these forums.. I am a brand new newbie here and first I would like to say a big THANK YOU for this great theme I am currently just using the Responsive Real Estate them but I was so impressed by the themes that I bought the whole damn VIP package 🙂

I should say that this was after I had given up on another theme I’d purchased which after a few hard days of trying to get it to work.. gave it up as a bad joke.. Fortunately they honored their 7 day refund offer, although I would have dumped it even if they hadn’t. Then luckily I found your one which seemed to deliver on all the things I couldn’t get with the other one.. for example:

1. Sort by option.. damn I can’t believe they didn’t have that..

2. Taxonomies – even though I didn’t know the meaning of the term until 2 day ago – particularly how it related to States/City/Suburb etc.. Yours work so well.

But Mark, if you will permit me to say one thing not so positive about your themes is that, not to put too fine a point on it.. Your search functions in the Forums sucks. 

As a newbie who is just trying to drive this beautiful beast, it’s bloody hard to find out where all the gears are.. let alone the accelerator 

So I hope you won’t mind if I suggest to you – and to the forum users in general. Please grunt up the search options..

For one thing… when I do finally find a post that looks like it might relate to the issue I am trying to resolve.. I do not want to have to wade through pages of results that all quote the same post title.. I already went directly to the post title now I am looking for the next one.. I just want to get to the new NEW post. And please allow me the option to search and or show only the post title, or the original post only.

Perhaps a search panel like they have on the Warriorforums (see image attached)

I could suggest a website theme that has some awesome filtering options that would make life in the forums so much easier.. yours of course 

In the interim could I be so bold as to make a suggestion for a quick fix.

Perhaps you could start a new main heading in the forums where you now have
General Discussion
Plugins – Share & Recommend
Responsive Themes etc
And call it How/where to: This could form the basis of a really helpful user manual where users – and PP of course – would list individual instructions on how or where to do certain things.

EG.
Post title: Agents profile – details. To add or associate to listing pages
Post detail: WP Dashboard> Appearance> Widgets> Author widget

Again, Mark et al.. my congratulations on building a suite of great themes that I am confident of in time becoming very familiar with and building some great sites with.. but please please help me to make my learning curve a little less stressful.. and maybe in doing so some pressure off your fantastic support team who have been very patient with me over the last week.
