    Hello,

How can I customize the Contact Form of directorypress ?
    1) Add new fields.
    2) Add multiples contacts emails “The Adminstrators” + the “Owners Email” + Other fixed Email.
    3) Can I use a child theme ?

    Thank you for your answer.
    Fabrice Henry.

There is no option, the contact form is designed to be basic as there are many contact plugins already available for WP.

    Hi Mark

This is true. There are many contact plugins. But at the moment Request Details button is the only option and limited for my use. I need more info and am using CF7 as per this example as a widget.

It would be great to link the Request Details link to my contact form plugin. Or at least be able to add more fields to your contact form.

If this cannot be done then I need to remove Request Details from the new responsive theme. Is that possible?

What fields would you like to have included?

    Kind regards,

    Richard

It would be better to link to your contact form and include hidden data (if possible) so the user knows which listing they are referring too.

I dont intend to add any contact forms to the new framework at this stage.

Can I link my contact form? That will be great? CF7 publishes the link of the post in the replay form. And contact form 7 has an add on where all the contacts are added to a database and added to mailchimp.

im not sure, you’ll need to speak to the plugin authors.

The problem with using any contact form plugin is that it will not use the listing owner email. I have tried several such plugins without any luck.
I ended up creating my own plugin that ‘overrides’ the ‘Request Details’ on the listing page.
Unfortunately it does not have an option to add your own fields as yet (that’s why I have asked which fields you needed as I can add them for you manually at the moment).

    Kind regards,

    Richard

    Richard,

May I ask, why did you add your own contact plugin? What is the differences? and Is the plugin available?

The default ‘Request Details’ sends message to the ‘internal’ message system and not a direct email to the listing owner. So I have created a small plugin that overrides that (and also has more fields and gives more information, sends copy to admin and it is possible to add some other recipients).

Richard the email in DP v7 is also sent to the user if the contact form email is setup.

    oh, ok 😳

Regardless of that, I needed extra features that I couldn’t do with the default system.

    Richard,

Can you provide the link to your plugin based on your comment:

I ended up creating my own plugin that ‘overrides’ the ‘Request Details’ on the listing page.

I went to your website but was not able to find it.

For IE customers, the standard contact form on the theme does not show the field labels.

Richard, you provided me a plugin which DID put in the field labels, but this then allows the customer to submit form WITHOUT most of the data entered.

I need another solution and trying to tell customers ahead of time what version of IE they should be on is not feasible. So Richard, if you have another plugin for a customized contact form (that hopefully works on IE, Firefox, and chrome), please send me the link so I can hopefully use it. In addition, I sent you a personal email thru your site. Please review.
