custom CSS code for Auction countdown background color

Hi,
I would like to use some custom css code to alter the background colour of the auction countdown timer.

I have found I can change the colour of the numbers or text using

.box-count .number {
color: #ffffff;
background-color: #ff0000;
}

but I am unable to change the color of the entire box.

Any suggestions please?
