Alternatives to page builder?

Kind of tired of page builder being extremely broken, I just cannot seem to get 95% of it to work properly in any PP theme or site online or off and the current version of the ‘new’ homepage editor, no offence to PP, just sucks compared to how straight forward the old builder was.

Doesn’t save formatting 80% of edits so I end up editing the same page 100 times before it eventually saves it, half the content when selected doesn’t work like carousels, (even if I use short codes manually) almost impossible to insert images as the media gallery appears behind the page builder options etc etc etc. Menus can be hard to read thanks to them having no backgrounds. (No that it matters when the items the menus represent won’t work any way.)

So does anyone have any recommendations for a similar page builder plugin that actually works and is compatible with PP themes or is it the PP code that is screwed and no page builder will work until the base themes themselves are fixed?
