Child themes fate with new features

most of the child themes are having styling / functional issues with the update of new features / frame work update

i think mark need to readjust some functionality / styling in some of the child themes, it may take huge amount of time for him to update. this has happened previously also.

is there any way so that we can discontinue the old child themes or make sure that with framework update they behave properly.

its okay to change 5-10, but what about 100+ themes currently available
