slider height reduction

Hi Guys Happy New Year,at the moment i am using the shopping cart theme with the flower shop child theme i would love to use the slider but it is simply to big for my needs, can any one suggest the best practices for reducing the height of the home page slider the width is fine(i have a feeling i may be able to adjust it in the editor) or suggest a slider plugin that is compatible with the theme, Thanks Russ
