Is there a way to use a Google API to create the listings for a directory?

    I would like to do the initial data load into my directory via a data source of some type. I don’t think I can use an API and would have to use a CSV file instead. Can you share your knowledge with me and let me know if my assumption is correct?
    I thought maybe the Google Places API would work, but after some thought, I am not sure. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
