All themes Graphic Header/Banner at Top

I saw on a few child themes in many places a link within a child theme to another website that is obviously using Premium press, I saw a Top banner header image Size 960 wide by 128 height.
I will be buying the Vip package today, but first would like to know if I can also (easily) without having to put in a lot of code to places I do not understand how, regarding Code. Can I use jpeg or ,gif header images also sometimes called banners at the top in the center of my premium press website/s The 960 wide image would be instead of having a small logo located on the top left of the screen. I need to use a 960 wide size image. Is this possible.

I have already purchased Classified theme, and also wish to do this in that theme as well. The logo area is much too small for my needs.
