Tips on avoiding SITE KILLING update incompatibility issues.

Hi all,

I just wanted to get a perspective on how to keep your site running through the constant changes and updates of owning/operating a site.

I see those who have backgrounds in development do not have this issue.

But for those who are not interested in being developers, but still want to have their business be online, there seems to be a constant fear of “if i update, will it mess up the progress i’ve made with the previous version?”

I certainly do understand why things happen. kinks have to be worked out.

So i guess this will be open to those who have tips and advice to give to those without development skills, so that they can be successful online as well. =)
