How can I set up Membership Pages properly?

I noticed that there are membership plugins out there like InstaMember, OptimizePress has one, there is WishList and other ones.

So with PremiumPress what is the method…the correct way to set up pages for members only, is it just using the short codes or is there another way?

I am not to clear about how that works (short codes for members when it comes to the big picture of having a membership site with a Premium Press Theme). I have been able to do this with other membership plugins. I can’t figure out the logistics of what kind of member pages need to be set up, what content I can lock, what membership pages I need to set up and so on, it’s quite different or not explained for this in Premium Press.

And do I need an SSL certificate for this?

It would be amazing if you could have these membership pages work seamlessly and integrate with one of the above-mentioned plugins and/or even better yet, show us a video not just about setting up a listing or membership package but instead show us what kinds of pages, products and services can be offered to members with real-life examples in an over-the-shoulder video so we can get a vivid picture of how to set up the membership site.

It would also be great to include some instruction and explain if auto responders can be integrated like a weber, mail chimp, get response, etc. We do need to do html newsletters.

I would love to be able to set up a membership sales funnel and am finding the membership portion a bit challenging here.

Any thoughts?
