As we all know, a blog is a key feature for a site as it provides nice and fresh content that attracts traffic and expertise / authority / trust (EAT)
Here are the problems ive noticed & solutions & suggestions :
1) Most sites have one or several authors, and on premiumpress sites when authors login, they can’t post a blog post ! why ? because premiumpress code hides the wordpress bar at the top for authors with the link “add a blog post” i gave the solution to unhide this standard wordpress bar for authors on this topic :
2) Since 10.7.6 we have a breadcrumb on the blog posts : that’s nice
I noticed a bug in the blog homepage link in breacrumbs : (home > blog > …) blog is linking to site.com/index.php/blog/
3) On a blog post, no sign of the author name, it should be visible in the same meta block with date of post etc with the right link showing all his blog posts (see following)
4) Author page on a standard wordpress (site.com/author/username) is supposed to show blog posts published by a user, but since premiumpress theme used this page to show listings published by a user, we can’t see anymore blog posts published by an author,
> the solution would be to create another page like site.com/blog-author/username that would show last posts
> Another solution would be to show those blog posts on a tab of premiumpress profile author/username
I firmly believe that blog posts are a huge addon for our premiumpress sites memberships : i have a lot of clients ready to subscribe to a membership but asking if they can post blog posts about their company too in addition to the listings, asking if that’s included in the membership, that’s a suggestion for next updates : adding the feature to post X posts / month as a new part of a membership : clients would love this feature
5) Since 10.7.6, the social bar (with date, social media share buttons etc) is not working anymore : it’s not clickable anymore (must be a JS problem)
6) No related posts : that would be nice to have at the end of each blog post the last X blog posts from the same category (in grid view like 3 per line)
