Renewing listing for customer and doesn't save

I’ve renewed my customers manually because they are too lazy to do it themselves, I change the date in the custom fields listing_expiry_date, click update. then I publish the listing and everything is find. Next day I do in an all the dates are reverted and pending list again. I’ve done this several times. Please advise.
