Managing Listings
Managing Listings
How to add, edit, approve and moderate the listings on your site.
Everything here starts at PremiumPress ▸ Listings. The screen is named after what your site lists, so it may read Products, Jobs or Properties instead.
Add or edit a listing yourself
- Click Add listing at the top of the list, or open the … menu on a row and choose Edit.
- Fill in the form. It is the same form your members use.
- In the Status box, pick Published (approved) if it should go live now. A new listing starts as Draft.
- Click Create listing (or Save changes).
The panel beside the form holds the owner-only controls:
- Note to member — a short message sent with a rejection email.
- Author — who owns the listing. Pick a different account to hand it over. When you have many members, a search box appears above the list.
- Expires — when the listing runs out. You can't type a date here. The date comes from the site-wide lifetime (see Media, Expiry & Maps) or from the listing's package. If your site sells listing packages, choosing one in the editor applies that package's length, free of charge.
- Featured — pins the listing to the top of search results. In the list this column is called Highlighted, and you can click the star there too.
- Verified — shows the verified badge. Click the tick in the list to switch it quickly.
- Boosted — on dating sites only. Lifts the profile to the top of results for a set number of hours, without using the member's allowance.
Some themes add their own switches here, such as Sold or Comments. A shop product has no author, note or expiry, because products are added by the store and don't run out.
Approve new listings
Listings waiting for you sit under the Pending tab.
To approve or reject one with a message:
- Open it with Edit.
- Set Status to Published (approved), or to Denied (rejected).
- If you are rejecting it, write the reason in Note to member.
- Click Save changes.
The member is emailed either way, as long as those emails are switched on. A rejected listing is kept as a draft, so you will find it under the Draft tab.
To handle many at once, tick the rows and use the bulk menu: Set Published, Set Pending, Set Draft or Move to Trash. The same choices are in each row's … menu. These quick changes don't add a note, so use the editor when the member needs an explanation.
Choose whether listings need approval
Go to PremiumPress ▸ Settings ▸ Submissions & moderation.
- Allow submissions — switch off to stop members adding listings at all.
- Approve new listings — Yes — hold new FREE listings for review, or No — publish immediately.
- Approve edits — choose Yes — re-review an edited listing to send a live listing back to Pending whenever its owner changes it.
Paid listings never wait. Payment counts as approval, so a listing goes live the moment its package is paid for, even when approval is switched on.
The same screen sets a Max title length, a Min description length, and the category rules: Require a category, Allow multiple categories and Lock category after publish.
Comments, reviews and reports
Open PremiumPress ▸ Comments. Use the tabs (Pending, Approved, Spam, Trash) and the All types menu to show only comments, reviews or questions.
From a row's … menu you can Approve, Unapprove, Mark as spam or Trash it. Tick several rows to do the same in bulk. Anything in Trash can be restored, or removed for good with Delete Permanently.
When a visitor reports a listing, you get an email and the report appears in the Reports tab. The listing also shows under the Reported tab on the Listings screen, with a bell you can click to read the reports. Edit the listing if something needs fixing, then click Dismiss report to clear it.
On themes with buyer and seller ratings, a Feedback tab lets you edit, hide, reveal or delete those ratings.
Let businesses claim their listing
On directory sites, listings you added yourself, for example by importing a list of businesses, show a Claim this business button. Listings already owned by a member don't, and demo content never does.
- The business owner signs in and clicks Claim this business.
- They give their role at the business, and can add a note.
- The claim appears in PremiumPress ▸ Comments, under the Claims tab.
- Open the row's … menu and choose Approve claim or Decline claim.
Approving moves ownership of the listing to that member, so they can edit it from their account. The member is emailed the result either way. Several people can claim the same listing; you decide who gets it.
