Media, Expiry & Maps
The site-wide rules for photos, videos, expiry, maps, bookings and ratings on your listings.
All of these are tiles on PremiumPress ▸ Settings. Some only appear on themes that use them.
Photo uploads
Open the Media tile.
- Image uploads — lets members add photos to their listings.
- Require an image — members must add at least one photo before they can submit.
- Max images — the most photos one listing can have. 0 means no limit.
- Hide featured image in gallery — stops the main photo appearing twice, at the top and again in the gallery.
Phone photos are big, slow to upload and fill your hosting. Shrink large photos resizes each photo on the member's own device before it uploads. Set the Largest photo size for the longest side, between 800 and 2560 pixels. The default of 2000 looks sharp on any screen; a lower number saves more space. The oversized original is not kept.
On themes that allow only one photo per item, the limits above are hidden.
Video uploads
On the same Media tile, switch on Video uploads to let members upload video files, and set Max videos for how many each listing can have (0 means no limit).
Uploaded videos are the heaviest files your hosting stores. On video themes you can also allow YouTube links and Vimeo links, which cost you no storage.
Watermark your photos
Open the Watermark tile.
- Switch on Watermark photos.
- Under Watermark image, click Select watermark and pick your logo from the media library.
- Check the Preview, then save.
Use a PNG with a transparent background. A JPG brings its own white box with it.
Then fine-tune it:
- Position — any corner, edge or the centre, or Tiled across the whole photo. Tiling is harder to crop out but covers more of the picture.
- Size — the mark's width as a share of the photo, so it looks the same on a thumbnail and a full-size image.
- Opacity — lower is subtler. Around 50–70% stays readable.
- Edge spacing — the gap from the edge. Ignored when the mark is centred.
- Skip small images — photos narrower than this are left unmarked. Try 300 if cards look cluttered.
- Keep the originals — saves an unmarked copy of each upload privately.
The watermark only applies to photos members upload from now on. Photos already on your site, and images you add yourself in the admin, are never stamped. Turning it off stops new photos being marked, but photos already stamped keep their mark, and there is no one-click way to remove it yet. Leave Keep the originals on so clean copies exist if you change your mind.
Listing expiry
Open the Expiry tile.
- Listing lifetime — how many days a listing stays live. The default is 30. 0 means listings never expire.
- On expiry — what happens next: Do nothing, Mark expired (keep the page live), Set to draft (unlisted), Set to pending review, Move to Trash, or Delete permanently (photos included).
Mark expired is the safe choice for search engines. The listing leaves search results and closes to new activity, but its page keeps working.
The clock starts when a listing is published. Listings bought on a package use that package's length instead. Owners are emailed before their listing expires, and again when it does. The site checks for expired listings once a day.
Maps
Open the Maps tile and use Enable service to switch maps on or off. Turning it off keeps your key saved.
Choose a provider:
- OpenStreetMap (free, no key) — works straight away.
- Google Maps — needs a Maps JavaScript API key from the Google Cloud Console.
- Mapbox — needs a Mapbox access token.
To keep location search to your own area, tick up to five Search countries. The location box then only finds places there, and searches only return listings there. Leave every country unticked to search worldwide. Listings with no country recorded stay visible.
Bookings
Open the Bookings tile and switch Bookings on. Listing owners can then take bookings, and a date ("When") box is added to the main search. Switch it off to remove bookings from the whole site.
Under Allowed providers, tick the booking methods owners may choose from:
- Built-in request-to-book — the owner confirms each request. No outside account is needed.
- cal.com — the owner shows their own cal.com scheduling page.
- Google Calendar — the owner shows their own Google appointment page.
On most themes, every booking taken on the site is listed under PremiumPress ▸ Bookings. Filter by status, then Confirm or Decline a request, or Mark completed or Cancel a confirmed one. The customer is emailed each time.
Buyer and seller feedback
On themes where members buy from each other, Buyer & seller feedback is on the Submissions & moderation tile, and it starts switched on. After a completed sale, both sides can rate each other, and a member's score shows on their public profile.
Ratings stay hidden until both people have rated, or until the Feedback window (days) runs out. Set it to 0 to show ratings straight away. To turn ratings off, switch Buyer & seller feedback off.
While it is on, you can edit, hide or reveal individual ratings under the Feedback tab in PremiumPress ▸ Comments.
