Logo & Branding
Logo & Branding
Your logo and brand colours are set in one place and used across the whole site.
Open Design ▸ Brand. Under Company logo there are three choices: Text, Image and Image + text. Your logo shows in the header and footer. After any change, click Save changes.
Text logo
A text logo is your site name, written out in the header.
- Choose Text.
- Type your name in Logo text.
- Click Save changes.
If Logo text is left empty, the header shows your WordPress site title instead. That is why a new site often shows its title as the logo. To change it, either fill in Logo text or change the site title in WordPress settings.
Image logo
Use this when you have a logo file of your own.
- Choose Image.
- Click Choose image and pick or upload your logo from the media library.
- Click Save changes.
To go back, click Remove, then save. If no image is chosen, the header falls back to your text logo.
The logo is shown up to about 42 pixels tall in the standard header, with its width following its shape. For a sharp result on high-resolution screens, upload one about twice that height. A wide logo with a transparent background, saved as a PNG, works best. Some designs size the header logo slightly differently.
Icon next to your name
Image + text shows a small square icon beside your site name.
- Choose Image + text.
- Choose Pick an icon and click one from the grid, or choose Upload my own and click Choose image.
- Type the name to show beside it in Logo text.
- Click Save changes.
A preview above the choices shows the result as you go.
A picked icon sits on a rounded tile filled with your Primary colour. If you have not set a Primary colour yet, the theme's default teal is used. That is why the icon often looks green at first. Change Primary under Brand colours to change the tile.
An uploaded icon is shown as it is, without the tile, and keeps any transparency. A square image works best. It is shown about 34 pixels tall. To go back to a picked icon, click Remove, or switch to Pick an icon.
Brand colours
Brand colours sits below the logo on the same screen.
- Primary and Secondary colour buttons, links, badges and highlights across the site.
- Background and Cards are optional. Leave them blank to keep the design's own colours, or click Use the design’s to clear them.
A dark background on a light design, or the other way round, also switches the text colours so everything stays readable. See Fonts & Colors for fonts.
The Site Generator also has colour swatches. Those belong to the page design you are editing. The colours here apply to the whole site.
