Elementor Overview
Using the Elementor page builder with your theme.
What Elementor is
Elementor is a free drag-and-drop page builder for WordPress. It gives you a visual editor where you build a layout by dragging elements around and see the result as you work, with no HTML or CSS.
Download it from wordpress.org/plugins/elementor.
Do I need it?
No. It is entirely optional, and most sites never install it.
The theme ships complete designs, and the Site Generator already lets you rearrange sections and edit copy visually — see Templates & Design. Reach for Elementor when you want a layout the built-in designs don't offer, or a bespoke landing page.
Free vs Pro
We develop and test against the free version. That is the version we support, and it is all the theme requires.
Elementor Pro will generally work, but we do not build or test against it, so we cannot guarantee its Pro-only features behave — and problems specific to Pro fall outside our support.
Use the free version. Nothing in the theme needs Pro.
How Elementor fits with the theme
Build a page or a template in Elementor, then point the theme at it:
- Create the page (or an Elementor template, under Templates ▸ Saved Templates).
- Go to PremiumPress ▸ Design ▸ Pages.
- Set the slot you want to Custom design and choose what you built.
The theme renders yours in place of its own layout. Both ordinary WordPress pages built with Elementor and saved Elementor templates are offered.
This works for the theme's standard pages — Contact, About, FAQ and the rest, listed in Content Pages.
What Elementor cannot replace
Elementor lays out pages. It does not replace the parts of the site driven by your data — search results, category listings, the listing page itself, the member area and checkout. Those are rendered by the theme, and are configured from the PremiumPress screens instead.
