I am looking at adding search by region to the top search bar

This will allow people to search for phrases by category and region

There is no default setup for this in our themes, WordPress will only allow keyword and cat for the top bar searches and since country/state/city are taxonomy values they wont be searched.

You can setup the advanced search and use country/state/city there instead but its a widget so will be in your sidebar.
