responsive carousel

The product carousel on the homepage below the slider. Set to show 4 products ata time in rotation in product ID order.
That works fine on a desktop.

however on a mobile devices the carousel does not change and only displays the first product and then every 5th product.

This is because the carousel is not being repsonsive and not adjusting itself to show only one product in the row rather than 4. e.g. the carousel has 3 products off the screen edge and the first one in view.

How can I fix this please ?

Responsive is turned on in the the theme.
