Remove category dropdown from home page via CSS ???

    Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the category dropdown from the home page search par in the Comp and Directory themes? See pic.

    I’m using the Aug 2016 child theme.

    I know how to remove it by editing the homepage file but I want to avoid that if possible.

    Setting the “Display on home page” option for Category Filter in Search Setup to “NO” doesn’t do the trick either.
