Missing Membership Submission Settings

    Using Classified Theme latest update in V9. We have page&button links set correctly. There are no submission settings for Membership Packages. These are much needed settings.

    This isnt a function of the newer version – its not missing it’s simply not a feature.

    Thanks for the reply. Hopefully we can work around this. Is there any way to require a new registration once they complete the registration fields to be directed to the Membership page?
    Since we do not wish to allow new users to create their own password, we must email them first to log in. From that first login, we would want them to be directed to the Membership page to choose a package.
    Even if they choose a free membership package, we want only members to be able to post a new listing.
    We have memberships switch turned on, and new users are subscribers, but we must be missing something that directs the new user to the membership page to first choose a membership package before they access their dashboard.

    Mark I am not sure if Memberships play a different part in different themes, however the newest updated version of Classified and Vacation Child along with your comment above make cause the use of Memerships very confusing.
    Could your explain how Memberships are intended to work? Your Video is outdated and so we wish to use Memberships for it’s purpose, especially if it assists with securing portions of the site such as posting listings, viewing existing listings and whatever else dictates a need or best practice to use memberships.

    In the latest version I have re-added the listing options for memberships, I see now removing this caused a lot of confusion and I apologies for that.

    Yes it’s part of the core framework again so should be within all themes that support memberships.

    The thing is, if you look at the new registration and login page, both say “Memberships” indicating that there must a default membership status. So what is that member status? Are there any privilidges attached in registrering and becoming a new member? So once you set up a a new registration for a new “test” user, and once this user is logged in, the new user can access their dashboard. The green Membership icon does not show membership, and so if the user clicks on that icon, you are taken to a screen that says no active memberships for the user. That is very confusing in itself when they just registered as a new member.
    It seems that there must be admin membership packages setup to choose from if the user clicks on view memberships and it is not clear why, (when they already registered for a membership during the new registration process), which dictates asking again why they must choose a membership package in order to acquire a membership at all.
    If they register as a member than there should be some type of default membership established. Default members should have access to certain priviledges such as access to community forums, and other support priviledges such as creating support tickets as indicated within the premium press website. But we cannot see any default membership priviledges. This means an extra step in haveing new users choose a package if the memberships switch is turn one. If turned off then we cannot see the membership by default being meaningful. In our case, once we turn on the memberships switch, admin is locked out of access to manage classified ads page which is odd, and now that we turned off memberships, we are still locked out of that page.
    We would like to see default memberships have start-up priviledges, and then if membership packages are utilized, those default priviledges are expanded upon depending on the package chosen. In our case, default membership would enable a user to post one ad at no charge. Other packages would be at a cost for more ads per your video. How to set the visibility section up becomes a question as to the default membership being set to everyone, or to members? Not sure how members with subscriptions can be used.

    You can set the default membership for new users within the membership settings via the admin.

    If there is any way to offer Categories to be moved into a different order this would be an added feature within the admin panel. Presently, beware if you have many categories to set them in the order you wish them to appear in a drop-down such as the Search by Category drop-down list. We will have to completely re-do our category list to put them in the correct display order that we prefer. At the very least, in the Category setup, it would help if notation could be shown reminding admin to set categories up in the correct order before creating a category list and finding out later that the presented order is not correct.

    Can anyone explain in the newest update how to renew an expired listing? A suggestion would be to offer a window in the user Dashboard specifically for Renewing a Listing?
    As it stands we do not know how we would explain the process to a User.
