Language File in Child Theme

Hello, I need to change some stuff in my language file but I dont know how to add it to my child theme. I have tried different things as mentioned on here, but they didnt work. Can someone help me out?

    Hello Chris,
    Please go to Theme Setup >Language Setup >Upload Language File. This will upload the file for you
