I was wondering if anyone knows how and can give me instructions on how to COPY my Current Website to a NEW DOMAIN.

Everytime I copy the files and Database over to the New Domain, there are a few links that go back to the Original Domain.

I must not be converting all the Links and URL over to the New Domain.

After you copy the files and database, you have to go to your phpMyadmin (administration of your database) and do search&replace of the old url references to the new ones.

I use the duplicator plugin – you have to be able to get into PHPAdmin to create the new databases, but once you figure it out it’s a really smooth process.

    Need some HELP here.

I installed New WordPress for my 2nd Site.
I then Deleted all the File and SQL and Replaced with the Copy of my Existing Site.

HomePage pulls up Correctly, but if I click on any Links on the Front it takes me to the Original Site I am trying to copy.

I cannot figure out how to SEARCH & REPLACE as Richard said to do.

there is no search and replce for PhPMyAdmin, you would have to run an SQL query.

And why are you coping databases across, using the WordPRess import/export would have been better.

in anycase, most of the settings for your domain are found under the general setup tab in WP or in the wp_options table

Mark, can you explain your WP Import Export.

Should I have left the New WP Install files and just did a Import from my Original Website.

    its not mine 🙂

its the basic one built into WordPress designed for moving data between websites 🙂

look under your tools tab in the WordPress menu optons.

Should I have left the New WP Install files and just did a Import from my Original Website.

    spot on!

I know where the Import / Export Tool is but I am unsure what steps I should have followed to make this easier.

Does anyone have STEPS to follow or a link for How to do this.

Richard thanks for the Link. It is the best Step by Step I have ever seen.

After doing all the Step, my new site works but there were still alot of links with wrong URL.

I used the the below Plugin and it worked Great.
