Does anyone know if there is a header widget area? Specifically I want to have the Advanced Search replace the standard search, and I want it to span the whole page, just under the logo etc. But the only way I know how to add the Advanced Search to the page is via the widget, and there doesnt seem to be an option to configure a top sidebar. Thanks in advance

no there are no header widgets im afraid, that sort of modification would need to be done with a custom child theme.

It is possible to do it with a help of a plugin – Widgetise Top Banner. I had posted one on the old forum, but that is now gone. Will have to look for the plugin (or maybe will just redo it again).
